Groupe SeLoger has offloaded its AMIVAC vacation rental business unit to alternative accommodation metasearch site HomeToGo.
Terms of the acquisition, which was signed in August last year but completed this week, were not disclosed.
AMIVAC also owns and operates the Vacances and Vacances SeLoger websites.
The strategy behind the deal is to give HomeToGo a stronger foothold in France and help grow its subscription and services platform.
Groupe SeLoger is sharpening its strategy to focus on its core real estate business, which it has run since forming in 1996.
HomeToGo CEO and co-founder Patrick Andrae says: "The vacation rental market is incredibly fragmented in both France and internationally, yet rapidly evolving and accelerating in growth with the tailwinds experienced by the pandemic.
"The combination of AMIVAC’s already high brand awareness and our global reach brings an incredible opportunity for both our newly acquired partners and our business as we look ahead to the future.”
Germany-based HomeToGo was created in 2014 and went on the public markets via a Special Purpose Acquisition Company (SPAC) in September 2021.
