Aviation intelligence startup Beacon AI has landed $15 million in Series A funding.
The investment in the United States-based company was led by Costanoa Ventures with Scout Ventures also involved alongside new and existing investors including OpenAI's Sam Altman and JetBlue Ventures.
Beacon, which was founded in 2021 and has raised a total of $20 million in funding, offers artificial intelligence assistance to flight decks to improve flight safety and boost efficiency.
The company plans to use the funding to expand its team and accelerate the rollout of its products including an AI-powered pilot assistant and its data platform and flight management system, Lighthouse.
"From our start, we've had the goal of augmenting pilots with advanced technology that helps them perform their jobs more efficiently and safely," said Matt Cox, CEO of Beacon AI.
"Everyone in aviation is under pressure to improve safety, and planes' flight decks and pilots remain underserved."
