A new wellness
certification designed for hotels and resorts is launching to create standards to
help travelers identify properties that meet their expectations.
The certification
comes from Wellness in Travel and Tourism (WITT), an organization that also
provides consulting and marketing support to hotel owners and management
companies looking to differentiate their properties through their wellness
offerings.
“The WITT
Certified seal provides hotels and resorts with a significant advantage in
attracting travelers by offering objective and rigorous audits of their
wellness amenities and services,” said Robin Ruiz, founder and CEO Of WITT.

"Think of us
as the Michelin Guide for Wellness Travel. Our forthcoming consumer-facing
website will provide travelers the ability to explore WITT-certified hotels,
articles, and destination spotlights, empowering them to travel confidently
knowing that their expectations and preferences will be met.”
The organization
said it uses a 100-point certification process that evaluates properties based
on five categories: healthy eating, holistic healing, nature, movement and
local impact.
Through its early
adoption program, 100 properties have already received WITT’s certification,
including The Ranch at Malibu, AMAN New York and AutoCamp Catskills.
