With health now a major concern in the travel industry due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, a marketplace that connects travelers with local doctors has landed its largest capital raise to date.
Air Doctor has just secured $7.8 million in Series A funding, bringing its total funding to $10.9 million over two rounds.
Kamet Ventures and The Phoenix Insurance Company are the lead backers of the deal.
The Israeli-based startup simplifies the process of locating a general practitioner or a specialist when traveling abroad with its user-friendly mobile app, which also streamlines insurance payments.
Since launching in 2016, Air Doctor has expanded service to include thousands of licensed medical professionals in more than 30 countries across Europe, Asia, Australia, North America and South America.
