Travel search provider Ixigo says it wants to support the Indian government's efforts in vaccinating as many citizens as possible from the coronavirus outbreak.
The country has suffered greatly in recent months from a variant of the COVID-19 virus known as Delta, triggering what is hoped will be a rapid acceleration of its vaccination program.
Ixigo has given over space on its flights and train booking app to allow users to find the nearest vaccination center and the latest availability.
The data is provided via an integration with the official CoWIN vaccination website.
Users can search for slots for their jab via age and the dose they are due to have in the program, as well as vaccine type (Covishield or Covaxin) and whether they are eligible for the paid or free service.
Once a data and time is secured, users are redirected to the CoWIN website to finalize their booking.
India peaked in early May this year with over 400,000 new reported infections per day, with 5,000 daily death coming later in the same month.
A notification tool has also been included to alert users when slots become available based on their criteria.
Rajnish Kumar, chief technology officer and director at Ixigo, says: "With this initiative we want to support the government's efforts in accelerating mass vaccinations by providing our users seamless access to vaccine slots.
"Timely vaccinations will help ease anxiety and encourage safe and free movement of people going forward."
