Vacation rental metasearch business HomeToGo is continuing its acquisition spree by acquiring the remaining 81% stake in German vacation rental technology company SECRA.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, but HomeToGo previously bought a 19% stake in SECRA in 2021.
This is the third acquisition for HomeToGo this year following its purchase of Germany-based e-domizil in March and its acquisition of AMIVAC from Groupe SeLoger in January.
With SECRA – which offers software solutions to help hosts, rental agencies and destinations better market listings – HomeToGo aims to bolster its subscriptions and services portfolio.
Founded in 1999, SECRA offers its subscribers advice, management and technology to help increase reach and bookings. In 2021, it achieved double-digit profitable growth and revenues in the high single-digit millions.
“The team at SECRA has incredible industry knowledge and shares many existing synergies with HomeToGo, including the goal of improving the entire vacation rental ecosystem by offering state-of-the-art technology solutions and prioritizing a partner-centric focus,” says HomeToGo COO Valentin Gruber.

SECRA also runs German vacation rental booking platform ostsee-ferienwohnungen.de, which has more than 7,000 offers on the Baltic Coast and will be added to HomeToGo’s vacation rental selection.
Says SECRA CEO Christoph Rakel: “At SECRA, our focus is to help our partners optimize their businesses by generating more visibility, bookings and guests. To this end, we are excited to be joining HomeToGo on its growth journey, which is a company with exceptional global reach and prioritization on technology that matches the spirit and strength of the SECRA team. As we look ahead, we know there are endless opportunities to learn from each other and scale together.”
SECRA’s 40-plus employees and founders and management team will join the HomeToGo team.
In the first quarter of 2022, revenue for HomeToGo’s subscription and services business more than doubled to €3.2 million versus €1.5 million in Q1 2021. Overall, HomeToGo revenue for the quarter was €19 million, double that of Q1 2021’s figure of €9.5 million.
